This is to inform LA colleagues that FMSiS LA Training Fund is now available for 2009 - 2010.  This is an one-off payment paid by the FMSiS Value for Money in Schools Team.

Local Authorities requested that it would be helpful to receive funding for FMSiS training so that they could decide the best way to use these funds.  The funding calculated for each LA is at least equivalent to the cost of providing one session (£750) and increased proportionally for larger authorities with more than 70 Primary, Secondary and Special schools.

These funds can be used by LAs for FMSiS training for internal staff in order to support the Primary and Special school sectors.  These funds can be used to arrange training for schools with either known FMSiS training providers such as the Institute of Public Finance (IPF) or the National Association of School Business Management (NASBM), previously known as the NBA or any other appropriate local training provider.

We are asking LAs who require additional funding for FMSiS training to email a request to us at  financial.management@dcsf.gsi.gov.uk  by Friday 20 February 2009.
